How to minimize mobile data use on an Android phone?
The easiest way to dramatically reduce data use that I've found is to use Google's Data Saver extension for Chrome. I use at least 40% less data on my phone with it turned on. To enable it on your Android device:
1. Open the Chrome browser.
2. Touch the Chrome menu, then Settings.
3. Under "Advanced," touch Data Saver.
4. Slide the switch ON.
