Generic Software Overclocking
Step1
Download and install overclocking and stress testing software and follow the section 1.
Step2
Open the overclocking software and navigate to the CPU settings page.
Step3
Adjust the front-side bus multiplier upwards in 5 percent increments until you reach a 20 percent increase in clock speed to make upward adjustments in the CPU clock speed.
Step4
Use the stress testing software to test for stability.

Turbo Boost and Overdrive Overclocking
Step1
Download and open the Intel Turbo Boost or the AMD Overdrive software bundle and read the documentation thoroughly.
Step2
Follow the directions laid out in either manual.
Do not try to increase clock speed beyond recommended parameters.
Step3
Stress-test the final setting for at least 12 hours before deciding to keep the overclock level you have set.

*.Laptop cooler (optional)
Note: Overclocking is always risky,It is especially hazardous on a laptop.
Overclocking a cpu will greatly increase its temperature which can damage it.
It's alright on a desktop since there is enough space for the heat to dissipate but, on a laptop, there is very little space.
Usually, the laptop is designed to shut itself off once the cpu reaches a critical temperature.
