Read/Write Indian Regional Fonts on your Android Phone
Do you face problem of blank space or boxes displayed when you open any Indian language post or message?
Do you want to enable regional fonts like gujarati or punjabi on whatsapp or facebook app?
Most of Micromax, Gionee, Lenovo, Oppo, Xolo, Intex, Spice comes without regional font support. Also many phones of HTC, Samsung, Sony Xperia, etc. has no support for local languages.
So here is quick guide on how to enabe Indian language fonts and for all those who wants to Install Regional Fonts like Hindi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Marathi, etc. on any of your android phones.
Languages Supported by this method:
Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit (Devnagri Script) – हिन्दी , मराठी , संस्कृतम्
Nepali – नेपाली
Bengali / Bangla – বাংলা
Gujarati – ગુજરાતી
Kannada – ಕನ್ನಡ
Tamil – தமிழ்
Telugu – తెలుగు
Malayalam – മലയാളം
Punjabi / Gurmukhi – ਪੰਜਾਬੀ
Urdu – اُردُو
If you can view the translations of above languages, you probably have fonts installed. If not then proceed to the given steps.
Requirements:
1. Rooted Android Phone
If not, then root your phone using FramaRoot app orRooting Guide. If this doesnot help then Search in google for How to Root phone model
*Rooting Voids Warranty, First know what you are doing (though you can unroot in no time).
Extract .ttf font file from the above link and place into your SDCARD.
Open X-plore or anyother file manager and open Root folder (you need to give root access)
Copy the file from SDCARD and Paste it to (Root)/System/Fonts (Click 'Overwrite' if necessary)
Set permissions as 644 or RW (read write)
Reboot!
Verify by again opening this post and check above translations.
Now you can view local languages in Emails, Browser, Opera Mini, Facebook App, Whatsapp, etc and also type by using the given keyboards. No more boxes, blank spaces or question mark while viewing regional fonts.
