finch opnvpn complete setup guid for windows

Installation
[b]Step 1.[/b] To begin setting up OpenVPN, download and install the latest OpenVPN installation package.

[b]Step 3.[/b] Open the OpenVPN installer and press 'Next'

[b]Step 4.[/b] Press 'I Agree'

[b]Step 5.[/b] Don't untick any of these unless you know what you are doing

[b]Step 6.[/b] Select the destination folder (Recommended to install at C:\)

[b]Step 7.[/b] Click Install when TAP-Win32 warning comes up

[b]Step 8.[/b] Once completed, press 'Next' [b]This will takes around 2 to 6 minutes[/b]

[b]Step 10.[/b] Right click OpenVPN GUI icon on your desktop and select 'Properties'

[b]Step 11.[/b] Go to 'Compatibility' tab and tick 'Run this program as an administrator'

Configuration
[b]Step 12.[/b] Click Here To Download FinchVPN OpenVPN config files , select your port and protocol at here.

[b]Step 13.[/b] After you have downloaded the FinchVPN config files, open it with (Eg: 7zip, Winrar)

[b]Step 14.[/b] Go to your installed OpenVPN folder and go to 'config' folder (Usually at C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config)

[b]Step 15.[/b] Select the port and location that you wanted and extract to the 'config' folder

Connect
[b]Step 16.[/b] Launch your OpenVPN GUI on your taskbar or desktop. Right click OpenVPN GUI icon and select the location and port you wanted to connect

[b]Step 17.[/b] When you are connecting this screen and log will scroll by, give it a few moments. When the connection has been established successful, the OpenVPN connection window closes. Your OpenVPN GUI icon will turn into GREEN from YELLOW

Disable services
[b]Step 19.[/b] Now that your OpenVPN connection works, you need to disable certain services on the VPN interface. Move your mouse to the lower right hot corner to display the Charms Bar. Select Settings.

[b]Step 20.[/b] Select Control Panel.

[b]Step 21.[/b] Click Network and Internet.

[b]Step 22.[/b] Open the Network and Sharing Center.

[b]Step 23.[/b] From the menu on the left side, select Change adapter settings.

[b]Step 24.[/b] The list of available Network Connections is shown. Right-click on the one with the device name TAP-Win32 Adapter V9 to open its context menu and select Properties.

[b]Step 25.[/b] On the Networking tab, uncheck all items but Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4). Close the properties window by clicking OK.
